Which measurements can I convert?

What is the difference between significant digits and decimal places?

Significant digits count meaningful digits across the whole number, while decimal places count only digits after the decimal point. Significant digits keep results readable across very large and very small conversions.

Why are US and Imperial gallons different?

A US gallon is about 3.785 litres, while an Imperial gallon is about 4.546 litres. Choose the explicitly labelled system when converting volume.

How are decimal and binary data units handled?

KB, MB, GB, and TB use powers of 1000. KiB, MiB, GiB, and TiB use powers of 1024.

Can a temperature be below absolute zero?

No. Absolute zero is 0 kelvin, equal to -273.15 degrees Celsius or -459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. The converter flags lower values as invalid.

Why can a converted value be slightly rounded?

Most unit factors are exact or standardized, but the displayed result is rounded to your selected number of significant digits. Increase that setting when you need more displayed precision.
