Is the target file size exact?
No. Target-size mode calculates a video bitrate from the chosen size and clip duration, but scene complexity and audio can move the final result above or below that estimate.
Why can compression take several minutes?
Video encoding is demanding, and speed depends on the video length, resolution, selected format, and your device. Lower resolution and frame-rate settings usually finish sooner.
Will the compressed video lose quality?
Video compression is normally lossy. Use the Sharper preset or move the quality control toward higher quality when fine detail matters, and always review the result before replacing an original.
What happens to subtitles and metadata?
The output keeps the main video and optional audio track. Embedded subtitle and data tracks are not copied. You can also remove title, camera, location, chapter, and other container metadata.
